JOB OPPORTUNITIES

FULL & PART TIME VETERINARIAN POSITIONS AVAILABLE

Position title:  Veterinarian

Location:  Kumeu & Warkworth

Work type:  Full time & Part time

Want to live near the beach and wine country while working with a fabulous team? Come join Veterinary
Associates Equine in Auckland, New Zealand!

Vet Associates Equine is a rapidly expanding and progressive general and referral practice covering the
Auckland region. We have a purpose-built hospital in Karaka, South Auckland and satellite practices in West
Auckland and North Auckland.

We are seeking enthusiastic veterinarians to join our satellite practices with an opportunity for either full-time or part-time work.  The work in West and North Auckland is based around the Kumeu and Warkworth areas and has a caseload consisting mainly of sport horses and pleasure horses, including some breeding work.

Veterinarians on staff at the Vet Associates Equine Hospital in Karaka include two board-certified surgeons, and a board-certified internist, all of whom are readily available to provide backup and support for all members of the practice.

We are committed to fostering a positive workplace culture with regular team meetings, journal club, Friday
happy hours, and regular team-building activities. We pride ourselves on a work environment that is
supportive, friendly, and engages a team approach.

Ideally the successful candidate will wish to work in a fun and supportive team environment and welcome
joining a practice that provides high-quality veterinary care. In addition, the candidate will have a positive
outlook, a good sense of humor, attention to detail, and strong communication skills.

We aim to provide world class care to our patients; pride in one’s work and a desire to continue to develop veterinary skills with the latest research are important attributes in a potential candidate.

New Zealand is renowned for the great outdoors, and our local area is no exception. We have incredible
beaches, surf, fishing, forest and bush walks, and great local schools. Being on the outskirts of a large city,
there are many restaurants, and city culture is a short drive away. Many of our staff are involved in equestrian
sports, including popular local hunts, show jumping, pony club, racing, and polo.

This is a great opportunity to join the dedicated, Vet Associates Equine family and to be part of our growing practice in beautiful New Zealand! https://www.newzealand.com/nz/auckland/

A vehicle is provided and a competitive salary will be commensurate with experience. In addition, paid licensure, a CE/CPD budget, cell phone package, paid NZVA/NZEVA membership, and paid professional liability are all part of the benefits package.

New Zealand offers a publicly-funded national healthcare system and an employer-matched retirement savings plan known as “KiwiSaver.” Four weeks annual leave is also included.

Applicants need to be eligible for full veterinary licensure in New Zealand (details available at https://www.vetcouncil.org.nz/Web/Veterinarians/Registration.aspx).

To submit an application, or to discuss the position in more detail, please contact Felicity Wade by email at felicity@vetassociates.co.nz or by phone at +6492947307.

Applications should include a cover letter, a CV, and the names and contact details of three references.
